David Bowie - Mit einem Mädchen vom Bahnhof Zoo
10 April 1976
Deutschlandhalle, West Berlin, East Germany

Label: unknown
Audio Source: audience
Lineage:
for tracks 1-4 : "nth" generation tape -> CDR -> EAC -> FLAC (-V -8) -> MWP
for tracks 4-15 : low gen Cassette > CD > EAC > FlacFrontend
(level 6, verifed, with align on sector boundaries) > flac
Number of Discs: 1
Artwork: not included
Total running time: 78m 06s

Notes: This release is a mix of two recordings : one available on MWP as torrent ID 1148 (this one), and second one coming from one of my trade CDRs, labeled as "Berlin 76".
Unfortunately, after I contacted the source of my recording, he said that he has no idea which generation was the tape used to make the CD. I think it's quite safe to say that it's a very high generation tape, since it suffers from a total lack of quality. It's listenable, but far from great. Anyway, the recording available on MWP contains tracks from Word on a Wing up to Rebel Rebel. "Berlin 76" had the first three ones - Station to Station, Suffragette City and Fame. I thought it may be a good idea to mix these two up. Since the MWP recording contains only a part of Word on a Wing, the beginning from "Berlin 76" was used.
I've also fixed the indexing a little bit, hopefully you'll think it's better now. I've also joined Panic in Detroit into one huge track. I thought that maybe another recording of this concert that I have would contain the entire drum solo ("Right Is So Vague", KTLA CD95), but upon listening to it carefully I found out that it practically wasn't there at all.

If you're a completist (like me, especially concerning this concert), you should be happy. Be warned that the quality of the first "three and a half" tracks is far from great.

Everything was encoded using FLAC -V -8. No additional sound processing was made except normalizing the volume levels and modifying the indexes.

Info: The title of the release comes from the fact that a young junkie from Berlin, the heroin of the book Wir, Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo went to this concert (although the book states that the date was 18 April - what is clearly wrong, since there was only one Bowie's concert in Berlin in 1976, and it's this one). The book was the thing that made me a fan of Bowie's music.

Tracklisting :
01 - Station to Station
02 - Suffragette City
03 - Fame
04 - Word on a Wing
05 - Stay
06 - Waiting for the Man
07 - Queen Bitch
08 - Life on Mars?
09 - Five Years
10 - Panic in Detroit (cut in the middle)
11 - band intro
12 - Changes
13 - TVC15
14 - Diamond Dogs
15 - Rebel Rebel (cut)

Thanks. Here's a sample of my version ... without any 'work' on it. Sounds quite the same, but difficult to say

wow. thx for this.

Just by listening the samples

XAVeRY track has clicks (vinyl?) and the gtr specially good, not too much hiss, and if the taper was distant from the stage.

DiamonDog track sounds closer to stage, lot of hiss, no clicks.

Xavery, thanks just jumping on.  Note your comments about being a completist on this recording.  Me too, would love to chat more but I'll download this first.  Thank you!
