Although it only happens rarely, the harpoon will still crash the server from time to time. This happened today with the following error: [Wed Jul 30, 21:17:20 2008].[1] STORE_ENT [Wed Jul 30, 21:17:20 2008].[1] [Wed Jul 30, 21:17:20 2008].[1] 9703(???) If it involves poon and you ain't never seen it, then it must be a rare one. I wonder if it has anything to do with running an older version of the server software (I just went back to 0.18)...

Dunno, but I do know I was running the just released .28 stable and it F'ed the turret, trap, and well "fling" physics when you toss them. I had modified these ages ago so you could throw them while running easier. In the new release the turrets would land on your head and make you stuck.
I have to admit, it almost became a feature! It was quite hilarious to fist jump to the sky, fling the turret, the turret would stick to your head and the sky, and you were left hanging there in midair.
I fixed the issue by reverting to MVDSV .28b.

NICE! We will just have to keep an eye on it... If the server keeps on crashing I will upgrade to a new(er) version.

Not quite sure whats going on.. maybe a poon chasing its tail. Circular Poon. Would need to be able to reproduce it to research this much.

I wasn't playing at the time, so I can't be of any help... It was Piras and Roxy... Hmmmm... Maybe Piras' poon was chasing Roxy's tail.

Try plain old ezquake as the server? That's what I would be using if I didn't crave the server recorded demos.

I didn't know ezQuake has a Linux server version... I might need to give it a look.

Here's a pic of me stuck to the turret I threw that stuck to the sky: Fortunately turrets don't like to be axed.

Nup, it's more to do with the server not stopping calculating the poon rope length if you jab it somewhere then switch weapons and take off while the poon is embedded in something still.

My current best guess is that some moving brushes cause the poon to fracture into a large number of segments. It seems that you have to catch the geometry just right to do it. Have not really looked at it yet.. don't particularly like the poon code.
