For those of you who haven't experienced PKA - you can grab this 2.5 minute clip and take a look.

I made it today just to convince you to try PKA. Grin

Neat video, well done.  Smiley

Too bad Seismovision requires Quake 3 to view it's demos... there are some side-splitters out there.  Cheesy

Yeah. But we could make a great video using some of the demos out there.
If you could select some cool demos I'd carve a nice PK video out of them. Grin

Yipes! That'll take hours! Maybe if we enlist the help of some people at GP, they can come up with some, along with the approximate timestamps to help you narrow down a 'best of' clip.  Cheesy

One that sticks in my mind was one that Shitty posted - something like 'Ful and his magic tongue'. That one still cracks me up... every time I play him, he tries to nail me like that. I get to laughing so hard I can't aim.

@5h17h34d ,

tried the practice.bat but it didn't start, said something about the server not available. I had to go back and use the wv.bat...where I met Doom Grin
Well, not easy to practice with someone like him  lol

What do I have to do to make the practice mode work? Huh?

Rossy - if you want to practise with bots you don't need any bat files. Just start Quake III, select MODS then Painkeep Arena. Then, when PKA loads call the console (~ key) and type

map xxx

where xxx is the name of the map file you want to play.

Type "dir maps" to see what maps you have in you maps directory.

You add bots either via menu (add bots), where you can set their skill level, or via console by addbot command.

BTW:
Also remember that in Quake III (contrary to Quake, which used its own format for pak files) game files with extension .pk3 are plain zip files. PK3 = ZIP.
This means you can open any pk3 file just as you'd open a zip file.

Hi Pred!

I made a bat file so they wouldn't have to fool with the menus so much. I think they are very confusing and hard to navigate!

Not sure why it didn't work...

Had a happy ending fortunately! Thanks for the help!

Also, if they use "singleplayer" mode there seems to be a bug in q3/pka where all the maps noted as sp in the arena file do not show up in the map slider thing.

Rossy and Pieter, you can use single player mode, it's cool, just didnt want you'all to miss out on some of the cooler maps that do not show in the list.

Hey Sh1tty, that's right about menus and I never use them for map selection. I do everything from the console.
But I know map names of course. Cheesy

Which server are you using to play PKA with Rossy and Piras? Yours (WV)?
