Can you give some code that makes my character do all the right things by himself even when I push the wrong buttons?

Here's a handy bind that occurred to me today. Rossy was not feeling so peppy and she left but still hung around and chatted for a bit on Teamspeak. I think the motion of the game was making her a bit woozy. If you want to take a break, smoke, pee, answer the phone, whatever, heres a quicky bind that will toggle you between spectating and playing: Bind F10 togglespec cfg_saveHitting f10 will turn you into a spectator if you are playing. Hitting it while you are spectating will make you rejoin the carnage as a player victim. It works like watching the mvd demos, hitting jump will switch you around to follow different players and hitting your fire key will make you free float so you can see what those nasty camping monsters are up to!

Thanks, 5h17h34d I just need to copy and paste in one of my configs, right? Yes, that 's a neat tool, sometimes I too need some rest...as yesterday Btw, today I'm feeling better P.S. oh, and how did you guys go on? TS was breaking up all the time when I left, couldn't even say goodnight Also, and this may be important to mention for Chris, the Quake server was lagging and kicking us out at one point...just as I finally got the pentagram up on the water ceiling of the round map I hate , I saw 5h17h34d and Piras drop out and found myself red going alone in circles, until I couldn't move any more.

Yes, just paste the bind part into your cfg.
cfg_save doesn't work on your kb so save settings in config options menu.

I guess togglespec is a new command Anyhow, the attached cfg will do it in older EZQuake versions. Download it to your painkeep folder then in the console: exec spec.cfg The cfg will set your f10 key to toggle spectating and playing. It will save it for you also, no need to exec everytime you play after it is saved. BTW, if you have f10 bound to something I can make it f11 or you can edit it in notepad and do it. Then you will be bordering on geekiness! [attachment deleted by admin]

Yea, just change the f10 bit to f11 or f9, as I think f12 is default for taking screenshots iirc.
Wouldn't wanna miss any good screenies of us camping while you spectate us eh?

Just noticed something, Jim...in the file you attached there is : bind f10 spec1 is it meant to be like that or should it be bind f10 "spec1" ? (with commas)

I did it (with the commas), changed the bind f10 "quit" to f11 "quit" in the main config, tried Quake and it worked...I could change to spectator pressing f10

Yeah, I noticed Saturday wasn't a good day for the server -- or should I say, it was a busy day, so the server took a bit of an ass whoopin. Anyway, we should be seeing better results in a few weeks when I upgrade, so please try to hang on -- or play at Weenie -- until then.
