So if it disappears for a day, week, or a coupla weeks it's because I'm stubborn and refuse to just start replacing crap to guess what it is!
Right now the gurgling appears to be coming from the power supply but then again I had corrupt system files when I powered it down the other night for 12 hours when the cable went out. So it sits, and I wait to see what dies, the power supply or the disk!
