FYA:

I shall have to delete the following, uploaded today:

Midnight Special/Dick Cavett
London Astoria
At the Olympia
MSG 2003

I am sorry, but they were uploaded already, and these are not upgrades, even if the size is bigger. But not the resolution.
Be sure to check the search function before uploading, so that your uploads do not get deleted  Smiley

Dear rossy,

you know I am a lazy guy. lol  Sometimes it just is faster (especially when using the URL upload feature) just to upload the artwork and don't search for duplicates in the gallery... Especially when I have already opened 15 tabs in my browser and am to lazy to open Photoshop to have a look at image size and resolution.  Roll Eyes So I just estimate that bigger file size is and "upgrade"...  Embarrassed

I hope this does not mess up the database too much. Well, it is just an empty or deleted entry...

Sorry for causing some extra work for you this way. I will try not to be so lazy in the future. Wink  (As for the gallery credits: I don't mind if an upload of mine gets deleted when the same artwork is already there. It is like with the share ratio. It goes down and then up again...)

Btw. more URL-Upload slots would be nice. Smiley  Imho there should be at least as much as there are file-upload slots.

(And it would be great if for a short period of time there would be 25 URL-Upload open as I want to upload over 100 files and I think I will get crazy doing this 3 by 3...)

One by one they followed the sun
One by one until there where none
Two by two to their lovers they flew
Two by two into the foggy dew.

Three by three they danced on the sea
Four by four they danced on the shore
Five by five they tried to survive
Six by six they were playing with tricks.

(and so on...)

- Bob Dylan - 2 X 2

Thanks for your understanding.

No problem for the extra work, Schnittstelle, it really is no big effort for me to check the uploaded artwork (quite easy when it comes to Bowie)...and there is no problem with the database either.

I am just sorry that I have to delete people's efforts, that's all (and I'm not thinking about the credits but about the time spent doing it)  Wink

For the  URL-Upload slots...I checked and it's not in the admin config tools, so probably it's a Coppermine setting that cannot be modified.
Bewley surely knows, so let's hear what he says  Smiley

You don't have to be sorry when you delete some uploads of mine. It is the risk I am taking with my method, but I promise to do better next time...

As a VIP, you should by 5 x 3, unless something is wrong. Lips Sealed Huh?

I have upped this to 6 x 6. Let me know if you see this... If not, I will need to investigate why this isn't working correctly.

(Ha! You posted too quickly! Tongue)

I always had 5 x 3 I think even before I was a VIP... If I remember it correctly... (As I don't remember seeing less of them ever...)

Yeah, 6 x 6 right now! Thanks! (I think the Dylan song ends at 10 by 10...  lol )

I think we posted at almost the same time. I got a NSURLErrorDomain:-1005 error again, but when I reloaded the page the message was posted to the thread.

Sorry, I read "3 by 3" as 3 x 3 (3 browse and 3 URL) not 3 by 3 by 3... Embarrassed

A side product of working until 4:00 AM is the brain is foggy at 8:00 AM.

I think the maximum the gallery supports is 10 x 10. The problem is that there are limitations to the amount of data and the time allowed for a single post. If someone where to fill in all of the slots, chances are it would timeout before posting and this could become frustrating...

Talking about timeouts... I know why this is happening and I am working on a solution. More on that to come soon.

Sorry, I was never too good at maths...  lol  Yes, I did mean 3 URL upload slots at a time...  Embarrassed

But 6 is great too. 100/6=16,66666666667 instead of 100/3=33,33333333333  Grin Twice as fast!  Wink

Are the 6 slots now only for VIP or also for the general public?

VIP only.

I'll change it to 10... You let me know if it works.

(And that will be 6 x 10... Wink)

It worked perfectly! Thank you very much! I had no timeout using the 10 URL upload slots but there was only some small text to be copied into the textboxes. Maybe if someone is typing longer descriptions or setlists it is more secure to go with 6 URL upload slots?

I still have to test the 6 file upload slots but I think it is better not to try it while I am seeding. As there is not much bandwidth left for sneaking up artwork to the gallery.

@ majortom69:

I have deleted the artwork you uploaded of the Rare, Precious & Beautiful Vol 1 DVD, for there was already one in the gallery (higher resolution and les compressed).
While I kept the upgraded vol 2 artwork you uploaded and deleted the old one (thanks  Smiley )

@other,

I have deleted the artwork you uploaded of "A Letter To Hermoine" since there was a higher resolution one already uploaded in the gallery quite some time ago  Smiley
