I notice that the flyer that was given out at Milton Keynes, 1983 has been uploaded here. I am hopefully soon going to be scanning old articles from magazines, would that be something that people would want in the gallery? Let me know.

I would sure like it. I have a Bowie article from a recent magazine I could scan and upload.

Sounds good to me.

Though our Gallery Admin might need to make an album for it. Wink

OK, hopefully going to start on this today, I have nearly 20 years of Record Collector and Q magazines, plus some other bits and pieces. It is going to be a big job as that is a lot of mags to go through, but should be a fun project.

After taking part in the discussion regarding copyright... http://www.mindwarppavilion.org/smf/index.php/topic,446.0.html
I'm not feeling so good about scanning my articles and posting them.  Sad

Sorry,

OK, hopefully going to start on this today, I have nearly 20 years of Record Collector and Q magazines, plus some other bits and pieces. It is going to be a big job as that is a lot of mags to go through, but should be a fun project.

I have created a new Category in the Gallery, Articles & Reviews, containing 5 albums (Incoming Files, 1970's articles, 1980's articles, 1990's articles and 2000's articles).
You can upload your scans in the Incoming Files, and they will be placed in the right place.

So far the uploads were complete in every part (thank you  Wink)
I'm looking forward to your 20 years of Record Collector and Q magazines  Grin, if you have the time and patience to scan some of the most interesting ones, it'll be a very nice contribute to the site and Gallery  Smiley

What I recommend to everyone that decides to upload an article, is to fill in the title and the description, with the name of the magazine or the newspaper, and the date.
Also, and this is probably obvious, when the articles are made up of more than one page, please type the number of each page in the title, so that people can read them in the right order and they are placed automatically in the right sequence when uploaded.
Thanks  Smiley

I understand your concern about copyright, HB.  But in this case I am weighing availability versus historical content versus profitability.  I don't see us posting a 1970's article as being detrimental to a given publication, especially if that publication no longer exists.

So in this case, I will choose to be reactive.  If a publication disapproves of the posting of an article, it will be removed immediately from the gallery.

Thanks, I have done a few more this evening, which I will upload tomorrow. If no one objects I will do some artists like Iggy, Eno, Velvets as well.
It is part of a space saving exercise for me, as I need to get rid of a lot of these magazines but want to keep the articles that are of interest, and if I can share them along the way, more the better. It is interesting to see some of these articles which are written, obviously, without the benefit of hindsight, and how they differ to how things are perceived today, this will be especially true when I do some Q articles.

Please go ahead  Smiley
In this case we should specify the name of the artist in the title, to facilitate the search.

Edit: I added "David Bowie" in the titles of the ones you uploaded.

Just uploaded another set, but noted that the Magazine option doesn't appear in the dropdown menu of where to place files, so I had to put them in the same place I put them yesterday.
