"From the fertile valley of Deer Lick Holler, deep in the heart of Appalachia,
comes a sound that is old yet new. In an area completely isolated from outside
cultural and musical influence, this band of acoustic musicians grew up playing
the traditional music of their forefathers. Then, as fate would have it, one
crisp fall afternoon, a stranger passed through the holler. Well, he almost
made it through. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for appreciators of
great music worldwide, the stranger crashed his car into a stately old oak tree
at Devil's Elbow Curve. Sadly, the stranger expired, but his legacy lives on.
For under the back seat of his car, the boys found some old black vinyl records
as they went through his belongings looking for identification. All they had
to listen to them on was an old Edison Victrola that only played at 78 R.P.M.,
but the boys all agreed it was some mighty fine country music.
So, in memory of the stranger who had perished the boys set about learning these songs..."

1. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
2. Kirby Hill
3. You Shook Me All Night Long
4. War Pigs
5. Walk This Way
6. Ace Of Spades
7. Fat Bottomed Girls
8. Im Keeping Your Poop In A Jar
9. Dueling Banjos
10. Interview

Good for a laugh, although the joke does wear a little thin after a few albums Wink Yes, the songs are what you think they are but livin' large in an old, old school bluegrass stylee  Grin No offence meant to our Redneck/Coonass brethren!

A few screenies for anyone interested...

What's this rubbish doing on here Huh? anybody who likes this shite must have the music and dress taste of a line dancing saga pensioner! Tongue plus they must all think Jeremy Vine is a hip and trendy talk show / current affairs radio host and be life members of the Jeremy Vine fan club Tongue Tongue

Before anyone says it Roll Eyes I might be 47, but I aint a member of saga Tongue I can't sit for any length of time on a Wallace Arnold coach dribbling spittle into this months edition of People's Friend magazine for a start lol

Well, I only know one line dancing pensioner and I am pretty confident that he wouldn't enjoy this shite either but having heard him singing along to Dolly Parton, I don't hold his musical opinions too highly.

At 47, I'm not sure that you are old enough for saga, are you? Perhaps Piras can clarify  Tongue To be honest, I can't imagine anyone interested in this shite sitting on a Wallace Arnold coach anyhow. More likely to be sitting on the front porch, sipping cheap whisky from a chipped pint pot and spitting baccy juice into a bucket whilst a young cousin cares for the kids out back.

To be honest, I sometimes like to see/hear stuff which does not need thinking about and makes me laugh for a short time ... is that really so bad  Tongue

Trevor Halvo/Arthur Scargill ;-)

You should get out more - there is a big wide world out there!   Roll Eyes

Anyway Hayseed Dixie is a vast improvement on the shite that Mrs Baal plays   Music..............................James 'Bloody' Blunt.  And the daft funt has just released a new single and the album is out next week.............aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!     No

I suppose the only consolation is that "Back to Bedlam" will be put on the shelf for a few months!   Prayer

I'm not. Surely Americans would be sipping whiskey straight from a fifth or a 16oz shot glass? Wink

Well, one member has downloaded it and might even watch it sometime! Heaven forbid that they enjoy the experience as the fountain of all musical knowledge and sartorial good taste, Bro. Twonk Trevor, has informed me that this has no place on here  Tongue  Wink

Teasing aside, the members here are well catered for with more than enough Bowie and related downloads than anyone can cope with. By offering a variety of other material as well, we might be able to entice a few more characters into the fold and hopefully prevent our currently vibrant little community from stagnating. I can't tell beforehand what, if any, reaction there will be to any particular offering. I hope this answers the postal workers delegate's earlier question of "What's this rubbish doing on here?"

Actually, I'd love to hear this. It looks really interesting. If I download it, can I remain anonymous? lol

Huh? could someone share some light...I don't understand what is all discussion about this group, what's the "problem" that some stuff from them was uploaded  Huh?

Hayseed Dixie are a type of Hill Billy C&W group who take well known records and sort of Hill Billy them  Shifty I mean doing a Hill Billy version of Motorheads Ace Of Spades amongst others?Huh? I ask you Lips Sealed  If you insist on downloading this then do as GK said and try to remain anonymous lol The biggest damnation for them are that Jeremy Vine recommends them, and takes great delight in reminding everyone that he was the first to play them on Radio 2 Roll Eyes says a lot about Jeremy Vine that does lol

Still as freestate says variety is the spice of life, the trouble is Hayseed Dixie are a particularly poor type of spice imho and deserve to be left high up in the spice rack where they can not be reached, with a bit of luck they will then slip past their sell by date (if they haven't already) and end up in the bin where they belong Wink
