Bryan Ferry - Live in Amsterdam 09-09-02
Heineken Music Hall / 09-09-02 / Broadcast Date unknown.

Label: No Label
Audio Source: radio broadcast
Lineage: FM --> Minidisc --> WAV --> FLAC 8 --> MWP
Number of Discs: 1
Artwork: not included
Total running time: 51m 56s

Notes: The songs have been reshuffled for the broadcast. In the original performance Limbo segued into Boys and Girls, while the show opened with The Only Face and ended with I Thought. I've chosen not to correct this and keep the recording the way as it was broadcasted. Only one thing was fixed though. In the original broadcast Let's Stick Together for some reason was rather clumsily extended for 2 minutes by the radio station. Halfway through the second saxophone break after the chorus the first break was pasted and the song started again from that point. This has been removed and fixed into its proper duration.

Info: A rather good performance with Bryan's voice in much better shape than the previous As Time Goes by tour. Featuring a very good band consisting out of:

Bryan Ferry - Vocals, Harmonica and Piano (on The Only Face)
Chris Spedding - Guitars
Mick Green - Guitars
Colin Good - Musical Director and Piano
Paul Thompson - Drums
Mark Smith - Bass
Iain Dixon - Saxophone

Julia Thornton - Harp, Percussion and Keyboards

Katie Turner - Backing Vocals and Dancer
Anna Vollands - Backing Vocals and Dancer

Just listened to this one, and it's a very good quality audio torrent, plus a pretty interesting show.
Some interpretations are exceptional:
a fantastic version of Jealous Guy (as usual), here in a very heartfelt performance, and an incredibly beautiful almost heartbreaking interpretation of Carrickfergus.
Just as in "The Only Face" what comes through is something from some visceral mood, he lives within every word of the song.
"Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" is fantastic, better IMO than J.Cash's, Presley's or W.Jennings' versions, and although very different, it can very well compete with the original Dylan one too.

Thanks for this upload, he has always been one of my "youthful passions", so for me it's great to see him here.
I appreciated him when with Roxy Music but I always was into his solo performances and songs as well.
I think he's an exceptional performer, with a unique style and that "something" more that makes him what he is.
I will always remember his performance at Live Aid, one of the best moments of the evening.
Worth a download, that's for sure  Smiley

I saw this show live, a lot of nice song that were played sadly didn't make it to the broadcast. I remember on this show it was the first time he played 'Tokyo Joe' since the 70s and it was a great version. He also did a great version of 'Cruel' at the show. Sadly 'A Fool For Love' wasn't played that night, that one is excellent live!

I think the Frantic tour was a good tour, I also like Frantic a lot so that helps:) There exist a full show recording of this tour from the AVO sessions I believe. During that show he also did a cover of Sam the Sham's Wooly Bully. I'm dying to get my hands on that!

I think his Live Aid set was nice, but sadly he had all those technical problems.
