Anyone use it? Worth the switch from IE or FF?

I tried it when it came out. Uninstalled it pretty quickly. Nothing special, lots of useful features found in FF that I have become used to were missing and that hassle with the licence... they changed it later but the first version showed their intentions I think. So I just got rid of that. FF is still the best for me, with Opera in the second place. ditto. I use IE as my second browser but only for my online banking because the bank's software won't support anything else.

Thanks, folks. I primarily use IE as it is the browser of choice for my clients... I keep FF on reserve to visit a few sites that show little love for IE (Guitar Hero's community for one). I don't see much reason to check out Chrome -- perhaps other than to make sure the site works with it!

after reading this article I decided to give Chrome another go. I can concur that it does indeed seem noticeably faster than FF (and definitely IE7), and I actually like subtle interface differences (the tabs being right at the top of the window, above toolbars, for instance). Also, the 'Incognito mode' is really handy, you can either open a particular link in an Incognito tab, leaving no browsing history on the local machine, or you can add --incognito as a switch to open Chrome and then the whole browser is in Incognito mode, right handy for when using other people's machines

I tried it too...and I like it very much! It's much faster than FF (which I use but which has always been slow for me), and very simple and neat.

Hmmm... what would happen if someone in the US released a browser for white Americans...?

It would be seen as racist, of course Anyway...117 is right, GC is nice as to interface and speed and works perfectly on all sites, including this one of course (using it now). Much faster than FF, which has always been a bit slow for me, the reason I never got fond of it. No license or anything like that any more. I found a little ready script to launch it in incognito mode, although here at home I won't need it, but it may be handy elsewhere when sharing PCs. Must test it with attachments and downloads, but, unless some nasty surprise shows up, it really looks like it'll be my elected browser

Didn't Chrome have some security problems? I think I read something about that.
Yeah there are/were some known security flaws with Chrome, but that applies to all browsers and new flaws are being discovered in different browsers on a regular basis - it's how quickly these holes get patched up that really matters. Chrome seems to get updated really quickly, I'm just not sure I like it doing updates silently in the background without letting the user know about them - at least even with IE you can ignore an update if you choose to

I'm using it from many months, and I like it very much too. It does have some minor issue in certain sites sometimes, but in those rare cases I switch for a moment to FF or IE.
