Sadly, it is. However, if this continues, I may just have to pop the $$$ to get it resolved once and for all.

Well, well, well... As I would have it, my neighbor's son does "work for the cable company" and while I was looking at it today, he popped up. I lamented on my poor cable and made a comment that I needed to run a new one. He disappears and few minutes later he walks up with his tools and a box of cable. Fifteen minutes later I have a brand new cable run from point, through yard, into house and down to TV. Fire it up and my signals are back to near perfect, and as I type, I am uploading at 61.7K/sec (out of a max of 64K). Dunno if it was the dog or just the cable, but all is good again. By the way, it was a "freebie"... He wouldn't even accept a case of beer for his efforts. Good people, he is!

Well, all was good and then it happened again. Looks like there is a problem with my ISP -- probably not enough bandwidth to support the neighborhood. Oh well. At least I don't have to shoot the dog now.

My connection was kind of wanky this AM... First time I can recall the happening. Looks like it is time to fight with the cable company.

Well, according to the tracker I am pumping up at around 54k/sec... So it seems to be working again. I know the cable company is upgrading infrastructure to add voice over IP and 10 Mbit/1 Mbit service. Maybe I just need to show some patience and see if this is related to this...

Similar problem here, a tech is coming out, i'm not getting my 10 Mbit down, 2.2 up. More like 2 up and down. I will demanding another credit from my ISP.

I might need to try the credit thing... Maybe demanding one will get some resolution.

Touch wood, but my connection problem are "PWA" (Problem Went Away). Looks like it might have been something wrong beyond my yeard. Got a ~swank~ new cable out the deal too. (Thank God I didn't shoot the dawg!)

On a sad note, we learned last night that my mother-in-law's dog was run over. The sad part is that this dog shared the same, um, "parents" as my dog (different litters) and that this was my daughter's "pet" when she would visit. My girl didn't take it well at all.
