Shoot! I'm expecting mail from the UK.... Tongue

Blame the Dutch, German, and French post office ( amongst others ) via their ownership of TNT, DHL, Geo Post etc coming over here to the UK and creaming off the most profitable mail contracts whilst Royal Mail are forced to still provide a universal door to door service for a loss making ,one price anywhere, low price public service by our incredibly stupid mail regulator Angry

Of coure our letters mail market was forced to open up to foreign competition long before anyone else has to open theirs!? so Royal Mail at the moment is unable to do the same in their back yard Tongue

Hardly fair competition is it? but it's typical of this bloody stupid country of ours  and it's constant sop towards europe>Sad Angry Angry

People still use snail mail? Shocked Tongue

Well yes! they do and a lot more than people realise :Pe despite the advent of modern technology, a lot of things in the business world still need to be confirmed as a proper hard copy rather than as a fax for example.

At the end of the day though, people may mock and slagg off the mail service, and call it snail mail etc ( certain sections the british public are the worst ) but it's the same old story, because when we are completely fucked by those in power, and people have to pay the true cost of sending a letter to a particular destination, it's only then that the ignorant public will realise just what they had, and what they have lost Undecided of course by then it will be to late and peope like me will be saying I told you so! Tongue

Needless to say, I don't find this at all funny, especially when I'm losing money through strike action because of the actions of a couple of hatchet men brought in with the sole intention to run down Royal Mail at all costs, whilst drawing their six figure salaries and bonuses on a regular basis  Angry

Adam crozier should sod off back to the football league from which he came, Angry Angry Angry where I could quite happily while away a few hours kicking a heavy old fashioned leather football at his ignorant fat head!

As for Alan ( I'm one of the lads, lets all crack on)  Leighton. who holds high positions on the boards of several companies including Asda, the only thing I'd like to crack, is a tin of Asda special priced beans over his incredibly irritating head!!!

Rant Over  lol

Yes my wife works for postal service here in France and for example near my city a building from "La Poste" can manage 1 million of letters a day (80% of this letters are professionals).

Yeesh! Shocked

Sorry, I was joking. I am one of the more "old fashioned" types who likes to pay (most) of his bills through the mail. Though I must admit, as I have ventured more and more into the "paperless" world, I am really starting to like it. Embarrassed

As for the Postal services here in the States... I have never had a complaint. Though now that I think of it, my SAM's bill is late... Hmmmm... Wink

 lol

I know you were only joking bewls Wink but you gave me an opening to have a rant and get a few things off my chest  Wink  ( not that I suppose anyone is really bothered Undecided )

The thing is the current situation regarding Royal Mail is pretty serious, and a real sore point amongst it's staff due to the reasons I have given above. Royal Mail used to be regarded as the world's finest postal service and to see it being run down on purpose and abused by unfair legislation is really hard to take.

Still us brits should be used to this kind of thing by now  Roll Eyes because similar things have happened in most of our other industrys which is why as a county we lead fuck all!  Angry

Feel free to vent away, and if you need a little additional prodding, lemme know. For some reason, I just know how to hit those sore spots, if you know what I mean. Wink

Ressuurected this old thread since it dealt with Bowie Audio problems. Smiley

Are there any Bowie Audio members here having trouble getting on to BA at the moment? All I get when I try to log on is a page displaying these words

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Just wondering?

Well put it this way, I was beginning to get it  Lips Sealed   lol

As you say Pablo the site must be down since you are getting it as well, either that or Sphinx is doing his bit for the planet and going off line for a while to balance his carbon neutral footprint Wink

Yes, Error 403 is a server/site issue and is saying that the folder is not available for access. This could be caused by a number of things from problems with the host to a configuration issue. We used to get this from time to time on MWP when the site's configuration couldn't handle the load.

Bottom line is that this isn't a problem with MT's rig. Smiley
