All three can make backups, if you make sure you have the right settings. Goa, go to Options, - Advanced, check "Show prompt to backup registry issues" and it should work.

at least with Cclener, I don get how to backup registry before cleaning, don't find an option to that, nor offer me before cleaning...
Strange, because it always asks me about making a back-up and it was a default setting. But as xuncat says - just look for it in the options, it's there. I'll look into that later and let you know if you keep having problems with locating that option. //EDIT Ah OK, it's solved I see.

That's odd, Goa.
That means you can't go back... but maybe you should try updating the program (a small link in the bottom right corner). You should get that prompt!

dl new version analyzed. clean. "This process will permanently delete files from your system.
Are you sure you wish to proceed"
If i click cancel, it din't clean the register, If Iclick OK, it will clean it, but don't ask me to back up, where to create a back up nor nothing... please, consider my IQ for this is around 65

Aha! Goa, you are talking about the Cleaner, right? Not about the Registry cleaner? The ordinary Crap Cleaner (that you start by clicking "Cleaner", then "Analyze") just gets rid of temp files, cached pages, etc. You need to click "Registry" to get to the registry cleaner.

IMHO, no. It may be OK, it may be one of those sites that add stuff to the app. The CCleaner home is here: http://www.ccleaner.com/Goa, about the difference between cleaning out temp files etc with the "Cleaner" and cleaning the registry... that would take a long and complicated answer. Next year!

imho, yes.
Thanks goa. and xuncat I will DL it tomorrow and give it a go then, because I'm about to go out shortly to celebrate the new year. Btw when you do a registery clean, does it clean all the web sites info that you visit regular from the HD? as in you you need to enter the pass word info all over again in order to access say MWP for example? is that why you need to back up your HD info, sorry my IQ with this kind of thing with regards to getting a handle on understanding things is fairly limited. Also just to confirm does this ccleaner program fix these bugs that other program scans claim I have got?

The registry cleaning will do nothing about your log-ins, but the crap cleaning will. BUT you can tell it which cookies you want to keep - note that you have to analyze first if you have never run CCleaner before (so that it receives a list of your current cookies), then go to Options - Cookies, and tell which cookies you want to keep, then analyze again so that the crap cleaner gets the right list of files to delete, and finally run the cleaner. All this will be clear when you have the program installed and can look at it while reading this. I have no idea if CCleaner will fix alleged bugs - but I do think it is wise to steer clear of the scammers. As for backing up the HD - that is a way of always having a clean system to return to should anything go wrong ... *knocks on wood* ... As a side effect, restoring to a clean version of the OS of course means that any malware simply disappears. You do not have to do this - I just personally think it is such a sleek way of keeping the system in good shape.
