Since doing a factory restore last weekend, every time I start up Utorrent it asks me if I want to creat a start menu listing, have an icon on the desktop and a quicklaunch entry. Any idea why it keeps asking me, and any solution to stopping it happening?
It has never done this before.

Have you checked all the settings under "options" ?

Doesn't it ask you all that stuff when you install it? (Or don't you have to uncheck those options when you install it)

These are the questions you normally have when you install the program, not when you run it. Are you sure you're not clicking on the setup .exe ?

It doesn't come with a setup program anymore, just a standalone utorrent.exe file. On the first run it usually asks them questions and then sets up the data for future sessions, but somehow it isn't remembering. It still has the torrents listed and it has kept other settings (like turning off dht and pre-allocating files).

Have you tried: Uninstall uTorrent, re-boot, install uTorrent?

Weird problem - more details please. Every time I've updated uTorrent to a new version it's always kept the existing settings of the version I'm updating.

Yeah this was a fresh install, so it wasn't that I was updating an already installed program. I wipes all trace of utorrent off the computer and then started from fresh and it is working ok now, very odd problem. Computers eh?

That was a strange one. Will have to file it away for future knowledge.
