as i told goa, the source for these tracks is far superior to the torrented mp3 version at other sites, and comes from the pressed boot cd, received courtesy of zig dust. given that the original in-house cd-rs weren't intended for commercial release it's my guess that they were quite likely lossy files to begin with, knocked out unmastered on some office PC. ruud at IdbD has suggested the source of some of the fun mixes on the actual in-house discs is cassette (!), so i very much doubt truly lossless versions of these tracks exist in circulation. recent promos for Santa Monica with 2-second gaps between tracks indicates how little care is taken with a lot of pre-released material. the promo cassette for the liveandwell.com set was distorted throughout... anyhow, i'd take a lossy unreleased studio track over a "lossless" 1972 audience cassette any day of the week
