Forum Restructure

The forum is undergoing a restructure and a number of message boards are currently offline. Over the next several days (weeks?) there will be a number of changes (some quite small and some very large and significant) made to the layout and function of the forum and site. When completed, the forum will return, more or less, to its original state, albeit in an optimized and more concise format.

The next "push" of message boards is done. You may have noticed that several of the children boards have been consolidated with their parent boards and a couple of categories are now removed. This was a decision to help streamline the forum and remove extra and unneeded division of topics.

Also, the first draft of the site's Mission Statement is posted in this forum and denotes a shift in the way MWP is being managed moving forward.

Most of the pruning and cleaning is now complete. If you notice a missing child board, don't worry... The messages were retained, just moved to a new home. From memory, All That Jazz went into The Fan Base; The Suggestion Box into The Service Desk; The Knowledge Base went into Low Techs; and Big Bewley's recipes went into E,H&I. This was done to combine boards that were either too unproductive or too related to another message board that it caused a level of confusion. The original plan was to combine and move the old Dirty Sanchez boards into the Discussion category, but after careful consideration, it was decided leaving them in a catergory that could be closed and hidden from sight would give a member more options, especially if he/she does not approve of the subject matter.

Other little changes... Fantastic Death Abyss was placed in as a service, the Guides are now more visible and the focus on the Tech area is The Service (Help) Desk. Hopefully this will place more/better emphasis on these boards. Also, the Moderators are drawing straws, err, I mean volunteering (yeah, that's the ticket), to take responsibility for the message boards. If you have a question related to or an issue with a given topic, please shoot off a quick PM to one of the Moderator listed. Hopefully before all is said and done there will be at least two Moderators per board.
