GALLERY UPLOAD ETIQUETTE

GALLERY CONTENT
The Gallery is available for all members to share their artwork, photographs and scans pertaining to the categories provided. Only image files (JPEG, PNG, etc) and PDF files are permitted. Uploads of CD and DVD covers should be limited to recordings of independent origin (ROIO) and should not include scans of commercially released material. Uploads are monitored and maintained by the Gallery Administrators and an image may be removed at their discretion.

BLOATED UPLOADS
At times, and at the discretion of the Gallery Administrators, file formats (BMP, TIFF, etc) not suitable for Gallery delivery will be converted to a more compressed format (JPEG, PNG, etc). In these cases, great care will be taken to ensure the resulting image is comparable to the source image.

INEFFECTIVE UPLOADS
Do not dump or flood images into the Gallery. Please take a moment to ensure the image doesn't already exist prior to uploading. There is a search function available that will aid in finding artwork by captions, descriptions, titles and keywords.

UPGRADING EXISTING IMAGES
For an image to be considered an upgrade, it should derive from the source image or be a direct scan (unaltered in any way) of the original packaging, and be of a higher resolution than the existing Gallery artwork. If unsure about whether the proposed artwork is an upgrade, feel free to start a thread in the Gallery message board.

ARTWORK DESCRIPTIONS
All uploads are initially placed in the Incoming Files album of the category in which they are uploaded and are properly categorized by the Gallery Administrators at a later time. To make their jobs easier, please provide as much information as possible in the description field when uploading. Insufficient information may result in the deletion of the upload.

SHARING CONTENT
We maintain a very open policy regarding members sharing their uploaded images via a link posted in the MWP forum or on other websites and forums. However, due to the way the Gallery software functions, one should always post the URL located near the bottom of the Display Image page rather than the link found in the browser's address bar. This will ensure the correct image is displayed when it is moved to the appropriate album.

DISPUTES
It is the Gallery Administrators' policy to contact an uploader prior to the deletion of an image. However, there may arise situations where the content is removed without prior notification. In this case, and if you feel that an egregious oversight has been made, then PM a Global Moderator. Do not post complaints on the forum.
