Participating members of Mind-Warp PaVilion are now being "promoted" to the status of VIP. A VIP member on the site is granted the following access:
- A VIP message board
- Immediate uploads of wants/ISO requests (when available)
- Ability to upload public torrents to share on other web sites and forums
- No share ratio requirement
- View Tracker statistics
- View peers participating in a torrent
- View member's download history
- View Forum statistics
- Customizable Forum title
- Special "pre-release" and "test" torrents
- Personal album in the Gallery
- More as requested...

It has always been our plan, and we feel this is extremely important in any community, to acknowledge members who have participated on the site and have gone beyond the usual "what can this site do for me today" attitude. As important (if not more so) is to attempt to award members within a vacuum. That is to say, to create a system that does not show emotion, nor prejudice, and has clearly defined parameters that is obtainable by
all members -- this includes the site's Mods and Admins.
For the past 10 months many of you have been collecting credits for doing things such as uploading new torrents, seeding torrents past a 1.0 ratio, posting messages and uploading new artwork to the Gallery. The immediate benefit of this has been that these credits are applied back to your upload amount during your SRE calculation, meaning that by posting and uploading artwork, your share ratio is increasing (if you are not aware of this, then by all means have a look at the
Credits FAQ located on the Tracker). Now these credits are also being used as part of the calculation to determine VIP status.
We fully realize that the credits system favor those who participate on the tracker (especially favoring those who upload new material) and that some members participate solely within the forum. To balance the process, the VIP calculation is weighted -- the more a member posts, the less credits he must earn. Therefore, it is possible for a member to achieve VIP status even if he has never participated in a torrent. Hopefully this also allows members with slower connection speeds a way to be acknowledged for their participation and not have to spend years seeding just to make a goal that can easily be obtained by another member because he/she has a bigger pipe.
Finally, there is no way to "buy into" a VIP status or purchase extra permissions on this site. MWP, its server and its hosting plan is 100% financed by the site's Admin and does not accept donations -- because as it has once been explained, that would just be a
crazy thing to do.
