Hi,
that's my suggestion, good or bad, possible or not.  Cheesy
hope we can talk about it, as a nice feature for the uploads.  Wink

thanx,
gisele.

I have done it sometimes (when I wasn't too lazy) and really like it when I can check the quality before downloading.

There is a nice integrated player at http://www.divshare.com/ but unfotunately I could not make it work here. (although I have seen it working at dime)

Please feel free to attach audio samples to all your uploads. Smiley

Anyway, I will assume you are asking others to do this when they upload, correct?

Yes it is even helpful when I know the artist well and have listened to him/her a lot before... usually those mp3 samples lead to multiple downloads of the same show taped by different tapers...  lol

Could you please have a look at this site http://www.divshare.com/ and tell me why the code is so difficult to implement into the forum?

woohoo !!!!  Grin
thank you so much, bewley!!!  Wink  Cheesy
you are our hero!!!!  Axe
but pleaaaseeee... how can we do that (i mean, we'll need to upload the file to some place...)?
yeah, sometimes i ask for a sample (mostly when i'm curious about the artist/band), but i always add "if you don't mind and if possible" - because i don't know how to cut a file and don't even have a program to do that.  Sad  i just know how to "downsample" the mp3 bitrate.

thanx thanx thanx !!!  Cheesy
i love you !!!  Grin  lol  lol

I used to attach samples to most of my uploads, before the Harvested project started. I have no idea if anybody downloaded them, or even appreciated them.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I uploaded them to mediafire, that is one of the file hosts that tend to work well for most people no matter of location. You could of course also simply attach them to a post (click "Additional options...), but then they will be pruned once in a while by the tidy admin.

Edit: here's an example, see the first post Wink http://www.mindwarppavilion.org/ezt/torrents-details.php?id=589

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/MPEG_Audio_Players_and_Editors/ECPSoft_MP3_Trimmer.html

I don't know if this is the best application for the Windows platform but there should be some application like this available which can cut and fade mp3s without resampling the track.

Sorry to be thick here... Lips Sealed

But when posting/replying to a message there is an "Additional Options..." link right below the text area. Clicking this will give you the option to attach up to 4 mp3 files (up to 6 MBs each) to the message. Isn't that sufficient for attaching mp3 samples? Huh?

The nice thing about attaching in this way is that it will show the number of times people downloaded next to the attachment. The caveat is that the attachment is not permanent and is typically removed after 45 days or so (or when we run out of space Wink).

i'm not sure but i've tried to do it in the ISO Deep Purple topic. the filesize was ok, i was using "firefox" but that doesn't work... not sure again but i've tried twice, same result..  Huh? well, gonna try it again, posting a new comment in some thread/torrent...

If it gives you an error, please report back here. It could be that we are out of space and I need to clean up the save directory...
