Have burnt many discs now, all which are playable on all dvd players (inc Play station) in the house, using nero express.

Have gone to do a copy of U2 vertigo Buenos Aires from the disc i burnt after dl from here and the disc isn't recognised on the pc.
After checking other discs i've burnt, about 50% are the same, which means i can't copy from disc back to my HD or help re seed at a later date.
Should i be able to do the above?

The message i get is ....."windows can not read from disc. The disc might be corrupted or could be using a format not compatable with windows."

what am i doing wrong?
As i said earlier, all discs play perfectly, some are recognised on the PC and have not as yet burnt a "coaster".

thanks for any advice..

Would it be possible to try to read the offending discs in a different drive, perhaps on a neighbours PC? It seems unlikely that windows would allow burning to a format not compatible with windows. Are the offending discs all of the same type/brand?

Yes, i will take a couple of the discs to work on Mon to try on another PC.

Checked all video's i burnt from dl, mainly from here and out of 16 discs, only four are recognisable on the PC, but all playable on dvd players.

Tried burning Astoria x 3 today and the same result. Plays on dvd but not PC. Same message.

Looking at the folder for Astoria on my HD, there are two sub folders (art & video TS) but no audio TS folder as shown in the guide to burning to dvd on here.

Where am i going wrong?  Huh?

Even though the Audio_TS folder is empty, it should usually be burned to disc as some players do require it for compliance. This is not the problem here though as your discs play on your standalone dvd player and you should still be able to view the files on your PC without problems.

What software are you using to burn the discs? It might be worth trying ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com). Its free and works well, which is always nice Smiley I would use it to build and image and then burn that image. Are you running Vista, by any chance?

It strikes me that your problem might lie with the drive itself Sad

>>>Even though the Audio_TS folder is empty<<<

I don't seem to have an audio folder on my downloaded torrents, should i?

Attached screen showing my downloaded astoria file. Does it look correct or am i missing something?

I have been using Nero express 6 and there seems to be no logic to my problem, as the discs that are readable on PC are both my earliest DL and my later DL's and all of the same disc type and batch.

Will try imgburn tonight.

You won't generally find an audio_ts folder in a torrent download. It's just an empty folder and can easily be added for burning. It seems that in your case it is simply not required at the moment.

I don't have suitable software to open your attachment but if the torrent downloaded successfully the file structure will be fine as your torrent software will check the process. Besides, even if the structure was wrong you should still be able to read the disc regardless.

Do you have any other DVDs which you have burned on this setup...perhaps a back up of some audio torrents for example and if so can you read those without problems?
