So, being old does have some disadvantage...
In trying to discover what people are looking for vs. what's al;ready on the site, I find great difficulty in searching the torrents for evidence of an existing show.  For example, having noticed that there is more than 1 Bowie fan lurking in the bits, I found an old show I have - dbowie72-10-20 SBD from the Santa Monica Civic Center.

Searching for David Bowie with the date in various formats, I don't find any reference, but the search also turns up numerous non-Bowie torrents.  Is it I, or is there a mysterious force at work?  How do I become a better seeder?

Two things may help: when searching in the tracker, be sure to use the "+" before a search term. That eliminates a lot of rubbish. And you can try searching in the forum, because every thread in the tracker will also get in the forum, and removed torrents get in the archive so it gives you an extra over searching in the tracker. Using advanced search gives you extra search power. Hope this helps Smiley

I always search in the forum, for everything in the tracker is announced in here.
Searching in the tracker has always given me a lot of results too, plus, as Stefan points out, the archived torrents that have been eliminated from the tracker are not shown.

You can also encapsulate words in quotes when searching the tracker.

For example, searching for:

David Bowie

Would produce results with the word "David" and/or "Bowie".

Searching for:

"David Bowie"

Would produce results with the phrase "David Bowie".

Also, by default, the search only returns back active torrents. If you want a complete picture, you have to check the "including dead torrents" checkbox.

For example, searching for "Santa Monica" on its own didn't bring back the aforementioned show. However, by clicking the little checkbox, I did get this in my results set:

http://www.mindwarppavilion.org/ezt/torrents-details.php?id=436

Which happens to be the show in question. Smiley

Anyway, the search functionality on the tracker, while extremely powerful, is not very user friendly. Once I get the server stuff I am working on all sorted, I hope to start working on the Gallery and Tracker, getting these up to speed with the Forum.
