No, that's because they're not there. Bewls thought it was time for a change, so we have to wait and see what he decides. Wink

A couple of James Squire beers went down nicely today...

James Squire Original Amber Ale and James Squire Golden Ale... both absolutely superb, and a smooth as silk.

Why would you want to honour a convict, thief though even if he was the first brewer? Lips Sealed it looks a good drink mind  Wink

This is my favourite brand at the moment although it isn't as good as it was when it was independently owned, it's now owned by a Midlands or Manchester brewery I think Sad
http://www.jenningsbrewery.co.uk/

The best pint of beer that was ever available around my part of the world was the old Carlisle State Brewery beers. All the pubs in Carlisle were taken over by the state, and strict rules were enforced to control drunkenness and violence etc, the good to come out of it was that they reckon the Carlisle State Brewery produced the best beers ever, of course I'm to young to remember it Wink

If you go into some of the pubs in Carlisle today, some have the old Carlisle State Brewery rules displayed on the walls, they make interesting reading, but not if you are a woman! by all accounts women weren't allowed to go in the pubs without a male companion, and if you caused fights or broke the State Brewery rules in any way the penalties were severe to say the least Lips Sealed

I can't say I have tried this one blackbeard although I'm pretty certain that I have spied it in my local Morrisons supermarket ( where's pablo he knows what Morrisons stock Cheesy ) so I will ask Mrs H.A.L. to look out for it and buy some next time I send her out shopping Wink

Of course it should be made clear at this point that I suspect this is lager rather than proper beer in the British sense of the word. Proper beer in the UK is called bitter, preferably hand pulled from the wooden barrel with lots of bits floating around in the pint glass Drool

If I were to ever get the Mrs to emigrate like I want to, then British beer is one of the things I would miss the most, unlike most British ex pats these days who say they miss a decent CURRY!!  Roll Eyes Wacko when they are asked that question  lol

To most people, David Bowie is little more than a commodity of pop music since the release of whichever Guitar Hero game features the track “Ziggy Stardust,” which wasn’t even a single.
