Hi,

I'm having some security problems lately, su, I cleaned my computer with Spybot - Search & Destroy, some spyware was found and removed, however, I ended descovering that someone are using my password in another tracker, I changed my passwords, and now it apears that the problem are resolved, I doubt that this are spyware related, but, I dont know.

I am assuming that µTorrent is secure... could it be related with gmail? no other person use this computer, su...

I will be very thankful with your opinions :-)

thank you very much,
Strahl

Firstly: Welcome on the board.

Are you 100% sure someone used your password? Which tracker was it?

uTorrent and/or Gmail ? No, I don't think so.

To most people, David Bowie is little more than a commodity of pop music since the release of whichever Guitar Hero game features the track “Ziggy Stardust,” which wasn’t even a single.

Hi Smiley

well... I cant be 100% sure, however, I get a report that my last visite on the tracker web site was during a period wich I dont logged on it.

But, I'm using windows, and I think that all bad things could appen wit it.
My next os will be Linux, not only for security reazons, but for stability too.

Another strange thing appened, after a reboot, some .exe in windows\temp made a ping to 204.0.0.1 for some reazon I dont know, it never appened before, su, I made a cleanup of my PC using Spybot - Search & Destroy, it report some spyware, I dont know were it come from, I usually dont install software other tan open source, with the esception of EAC, Sysinternals suite and µTorrent, su, it come from some web page, I think. After cleanup, it not appened anymore, amd I notice that wen writing on any form on web pages it ave a beter responce. I'm saing this because I use a screen reader, and, it is very sencitive to computer performance, if some app are runing I can notice a very small latency change. For other side, wen some program opens a ms-dos session, I notice it because usually it starts the old ms-dos screen reader automatically due to the configuration I'm using, and I can know wat are appening even if the ms-dos box are not visible.

Anyway, I cant find reports of pw stealing on trackers web sites, su, I'm paranoid about it, and, the problem on the tracker web site could be not related with the spyware I found on my system, or pw stealing.

sorry to start here with my paranoia, even, the help desk is not adecuate to this question, I should have posted it on Low Tech's At The Wheel, it goes out of subject here, it will not appen amymore.

Thank you very much Smiley

Why don't you install Online Armor for example and see what processes and when try to run and use your internet connection.
