So I use uTorrent (love it) and have a Netgear router. It seems like every time I turn around, I'm firewalled. I have the router set up to port forward w/ uTorrent (worked splendidly with the old Linksys router), but still have to change the port almost daily to try to stay "unfirewalled."  Any solutions?

I'd go back to the Linksys, but it's not wireless and the wife requires wireless these days. Should I use both? Cable -> Linksys -> Netgear? With my machine plugged into the Linksys?

Just wondering tho if anyone can help me stay away from the dreaded yellow triangle (uTorrent thing).

I have a Netgear router and I have never been able to port forward, despite loads of trying. I've survived though, ok some things take a little longer etc, but I have a very healthy ratio, and have downloaded and uploaded everything I want to.

I'm also using a Netgear router but don't appear to be having the problems that you guys are?

Under Preferences > Connection, uncheck Randomize port each time uTorrent starts.
Uncheck Enable UPnP port mapping.
Check Add uTorrent to Windows Firewall exceptions.
Select your port for incoming connections.

I'm currently using a Netgear WGR614v7. From the admin interface,
select Port Forwarding > Add Custom Service.
Add a suitable service name, type, your chosen listening port and the local IP of the machine running uTorrent.
Restart the router and all should be good.

I have a Netgear DG834G, setting up port forwarding on these is done in two steps - first you go to Content Filtering | Services | Add Custom Service - give it a name and enter the port range, then you go to Firewall Rules | Inbound Services | Add , select the service you previously created, set it to Allow Always and enter your PC's IP, then Apply it - you should be good to go   Smiley

Assuming that you're doing everything correctly, have you tried checking for a firmware update for your router?   It might be that there's a known problem with the firmware you have losing settings and it's fixed with a newer firmware
