Ok... Hi again folks. I thought that I would post this recent Adrian Belew show from a little tour he did earlier this year. I think this one was originally uploaded to the Zomb tracker (not sure where I got this from actually) and someone (Sandy) then took the files and remastered them with excellent results. You can read below the included text I have about this show and, of course, all the info pertaining to this remaster. Truly they did a real quality job on this although just sometimes the levels are just a bit "hot" but not to an overtly exaggerated or un-enjoyable point and, just so you know, this whole concert "smokes!" Let it burn. Enjoy...

Source info: Recorded from balcony with Marantz PMD620 - Internal mics - at 16 bit 44.1 KHz wav. Levels were raised using Cooledit 2000.
Remaster info: This was a splendid show (I know, I was there. I even snagged Julie's setlist!) I'm thrilled this was recorded, and I must say, the source had fairly good balance and tonality and a terrific sense of ambience, but unfortunately, overall it was muddy and sounded somewhat distant. First and foremost, I used a multiband dynamics processor to compress and, mostly in the case of presence frequencies, significantly increase parts of the signal, and, finally, to keep those muddy frequencies circa 300Hz in line. I then used further dynamics processing to generally "smooth out" the signal, as well as to make it louder and give it a certain amount of "oomph" I felt that was lacking. This really brought it to life, although the way Adrian makes his guitar squeal this was occasionally a little much; to that end, I employed a nice linear-phase equalizer to attenuate the ~2kHz range (responsible for ear-splitting nasality), emphasize Adrian's voice and the bass guitar just a bit as they still sounded "back" a bit, and filter out some sub-bass sludge. That's really it. I didn't even need to perform noise reduction (hurrah!). Cheers, Sandy
