Personal rating 9/10

A superb recording and one of my favourite boots that I actually play. This should have been a 10/10, but on the last three tracks on disc two you can hear a faint static like sound. This annoyance is on the factory boot (CD rot?) and not from ripping errors. It doesn't spoil this boot  and if I hadn't mentioned it you probably wouldn't notice it without listening closely, or maybe you would have.

Here's a sample that contains the the worst example of the noise I spoke about. Make sure you check it out before downloading the torrent.

You must view this message from the forum for the sample.

Taken off the dvd?

This is not taken from any DVD, I didn't even know there was a DVD of this show, are you sure you got the right gig? I know there is an official DVD from Montreux 2000.

If there is a DVD does anyone know where to find it?

according to the "rock and roll animal" site, this show was broadcast by WDR on "rockpalast", so probably there are dvd's in circulation, but not officially released.

thanks for uploading, brigstow. i'm on one of those who thinks lou expired around 1984, but i'm giving this one a go. (i haven't even heard any of the albums after "new york" !)

I saw Lou at the Isle of Wight last month. He pissed a LOT of people off by not playing any of his famous songs - apart from IWFTM at the end, instead sticking to obscure album cuts that even I had difficulty recognizing (due to the, ahem, "arrangements" (drum and upright bass duels anybody?)).

I don't think people understood, that that is Lou in a nutshell. If he played what people wanted to hear, then he would never have made any decent music. Saying that though, I've seen him a dozen or so times, and the Isle Of Wight was not smooth experience at all.

Anybody have a recording?
