Really excellent dvd.
Thanks 4 this.
My fav is the "Seriously" bonus extra's.
All of the extra's (except the award show) looks like they were captured on a dvd recorder, much better looking than vhs.
Excellent quality "GOLDEN YEARS" (Soul Train) (much better quality than the vcd from Japanese TV with Fame and interview)
What a G8 clip 2 show on morning TV in England.
All the hosts seem 2 B fans, even the weather girl.
I think it must have been a NTSC master tape that they put to air, but the fact it was transmitted in PAL colour, it looks FAB.
U can even see the (TJN) glasses in his pocket.
As a point of interest i saw this clip (Golden Years-Soul Train) in a pub on the video screen from a company that makes video for pubs/clubs.
The credit read EMI Bowie Golden Years, working on trying 2 get a copy with interview and Fame.
And a bonus bonus "Heroes" from the Bing Crosby Show, love the reverb.
"The Marc Show" is excellent quality too.   Smiley

Screen cap from "Fame" (Soul Train) (not from this dvd).

Happy that you enjoyed it. All footage is taken from VHS tape Smiley

The Soul Train performance of Golden Years can be found on the Ryko video+cd promo set, High Tech Soul Sampler. I'll wish you the very best of luck in sourcing a great copy of the Fame performance Cheesy

That's a bummer! Sad

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that....

To most people, David Bowie is little more than a commodity of pop music since the release of whichever Guitar Hero game features the track “Ziggy Stardust,” which wasn’t even a single.

My ISP is really conscientious on throttling. They only throttle my download speed, so I can still upload at a whopping 128. Tongue

Cry  I feel like i have let the team down.
But at $60 NZ a month for 10GB's (up/ down) @2mbs is all i can afford.
But 6-8 kb/s up on dial-up is better than nothing.  Undecided

yes, the extras are fantastic, thanks very much. i remember the TVam bowie week - it was just when i was getting interested in DB as a youngster.

by any chance does anyone have the tube bowie special from that time (maybe it was when the serious moonlight video was first released) ? that was the single thing that made a big impression on me as an impressionable young teenager.

I would love to see that Tube piece too. Again this was when I was starting to get into Bowie and that was the first tv thing I saw about him.

Perhaps one of you will be willing to post a quick request in the Video ISO board?

Once this DVD is removed from the tracker, and I get around to cleaning up, this message will be "archived"...  A post in the ISO message base will remain there forever... Plus we can then discuss it in detail and it would be wihtin the context of an applicable thread. Smiley
