Audio Source:
This depends on which website you read.  :
Carlo Bolchini's Police Discography: The Police Bootlegs website claims it is from Hatfield, UK, 21/02/1979. However, Rogier's Police Page states the audio comes from numerous sources from the years 1979-1984. I would agree with Rogier because;

a) during the first 3 or 4 tracks Sting occasionally substitutes French lyrics suggesting these tracks were performed/recorded in France or a French-speaking country. The use of  French lyrics is not continued throughout the disc.

b) at the end of track 4 Sting says "goodnight' indicating the end of a concert.

c) although all the tracks are broadcast quality there is a noticeable change in ambiance from one group of tracks to the next.

Regardless of the source/sources all the tracks are broadcast quality and have been very well edited together.

*In the early 1990s a legal loophole in the Australian copyright laws allowed bootleggers to factory-manufacture and sell, in high street shops, unlicensed and unauthorised live recordings of numerous artists. This loophole was closed very quickly by legislators and consequently the bootlegs produced disappeared, although some can still be found in 2nd-hand shops to this day. The audio sources of the bootlegs were usually radio or television broadcasts and the sound quality was very good even though each title, released on fly-by-night labels such as 'Chartbusters', 'SW', 'Joker', 'Cherry' and some others, carried a disclaimer stating, for example, "This recording has not been authorised by the artist or his record company. This CD may not be of the same sound quality as an authorised release."

Thanks  Cheesy

Although I would download (almost) anything recorded by Bowie, I try to stick to broadcast quality for other artists.

To most people, David Bowie is little more than a commodity of pop music since the release of whichever Guitar Hero game features the track “Ziggy Stardust,” which wasn’t even a single.
